Just got back from my second visit to this wonderful collection , many of the complete aircraft are replicas from the epic film Battle of Britain but the real history is from all the original crashed…Full review by davidmT2267PO

Yes, the Museum is open from 10 am to 4 pm, every day except Mondays. But it is open on Bank Holidays, so will be open on the 22nd April. It has an excellent web site

I would suggest the website is correct. They are all volunteers and close during winter months for maintenance and all the work that needs doing but can't be done whilst visitors are present. Their website usually keeps you up to date with all that's happening. Including when they plan to reopen.

I think there is a bus from stop C at Marine Parade but I can't remember the number. It takes about two hours and costs about £5 and i think you have to change buses at Canterbury. It might be quicker to catch the train from Margate to Folkestone Central and then the bus a short journey to Hawkinge. It would be more expensive though. Entry to the museum for senior citizens is £7.50. Well worth it and you will be amazed and the volunteers are full of information for you and love answering your questions. Have a nice, fairly priced lunch at the cafe too. There is a shop with a variety of things to buy, books, games, jewellery, post cards etc. I hope this helps..
