Republic of Ireland international Aaron Connolly has ended his brief four-month spell at Sunderland after officially making the move to Millwall. The switch to the London outfit marks the seventh senior club on the Ireland star’s CV before he reaches his 25th birthday later in the month.

Championship side Millwall have signed Republic of Ireland international Aaron Connolly on a permanent contract after the 24-year-old parted company with Sunderland.

After his Sunderland exit was confirmed, sporting director Kristjaan Speakman said: “Aaron leaves with our best wishes and we thank him for his contribution this season. He's in a really good place and has a desire to play more regular minutes, which is only natural considering his journey.
