Police have been attacked with fireworks, bottles and bricks as violence erupted for a third night in Northern Ireland. The worst of the disorder was in Ballymena, but unrest also spread to other towns on Wednesday evening.

Larne Leisure Centre had temporarily been used as emergency shelter for those in urgent need following disturbances in Ballymena earlier in the week.

Iran accused the United States of being complicit in Israel's attacks on the Islamic Republic, which Washington denied, telling Tehran at the United Nations Security Council that it would "be wise" to negotiate over its nuclear programme.
