The updated, computer-generated versions in "Strange New Worlds" look much more reptilian and alien, and even boast prehensile tails. They're also a considerable upgrade on the CG Gorn who appeared in "Enterprise" episode "In a Mirror, Darkly" 20 years ago.

In comparing the two Big Bads, he adds, “The Gorn are very flesh and blood. They’re the brick-and-mortar version of a villain. The Vezda are very, very cthulhu, they’re very the world behind the world. They’re very much a personification of a kind of almost non-anthropomorphic darkness, and that’s another kind of evil.”

La'an Noonien-Singh was able to put the Gorn behind her in the Season 3 premiere of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, and it didn't take long for the Paramount+ series to find her a new storyline. The lieutenant seems to have entered a spicy new romance with one of her colleagues on the ship, though I'm not sure how I feel about it.
