The first winter storm of the season has left North Texas, but cold temperatures have frozen the water and slush that remained on the ground. TxDOT and cities have been working to clear ice from the roads, but there are still dangerous road conditions.

The National Weather Service said a tenth of an inch of ice could accumulate on bridges, and some areas could get up to a quarter inch. But the main travel impacts are expected to be from sleet and snow.

There is a First Alert Weather Morning in place for icing on roadways, making for dangerous travel. The weather alert is for both freezing fog and refreezing on roads as temperatures dropped into the low 20s Friday night.

North Texas is experiencing a mix of snow and sleet​, causing road closures and traffic delays across the Metroplex.
