Data analyzed by the CBS News Crime Unit shows at least 50 law enforcement officers have been shot in ambush attacks so far this year.

The suspect had parked at a dead end of an undeveloped industrial park in Lorain, located in northeast Ohio, and had an "arsenal of weapons with him," police said.

Police in Ohio identified the officer killed by a raging gunman on Wednesday who opened fire on police responding to a call, leaving two others injured. The gunman was also killed.
