Jones has had his eyes on returning at the UFC’s White House event on July 4, 2026, in honor of the USA’s 250th birthday. However, Dana White cast doubt on that happening when the UFC CEO gave ‘billion to one’ odds to Jones potentially being on that card.

In June, Jones (28-1 MMA, 22-1 UFC) retired and relinquished his UFC heavyweight title which scrapped the long-awaited title-unification bout with Tom Aspinall. However, upon hearing that the UFC plans on holding an event at the White House lawn on July 4, it took Jones just weeks to come out of retirement and re-enter the drug testing pool.
