The Atlanta Falcons traveled to Santa Clara, California to take on the San Francisco 49ers on "Sunday Night Football." Here's what happened in Week 7.

The San Francisco 49ers on Saturday elevated Trevis Gipson and Nick Zakelj from the practice squad for Sunday’s game against the Houston Texans.

Christian McCaffrey has his first 100-yard rushing game since 2023, helping the San Francisco 49ers beat the Atlanta Falcons 20-10 on Sunday night.

If the 49ers win Sunday in Houston, they’ll match their overall win total from last season and they’ll be alone atop the NFC West at 6-2.

The Falcons and 49ers game will kick off at 8:20 p.m. ET on Sunday, Oct. 19. The San Francisco 49ers vs. Atlanta Falcons game will be broadcast on NBC on Sunday night. Streamers can also catch the game on Peacock or with Fubo, which comes with a free trial.

With starter Brock Purdy slowly working his way back from the right big toe injury that's kept him out since Week 4, the 49ers will again turn to backup Mac Jones on Sunday against the Texans. Ricky Pearsall also is out.

Chase Lucas hasn't played much, but he's made an outsized impact for the 49ers, including two game-sealing plays.

The 49ers probably can win 12 games this season just because their schedule is so weak. But to make real noise in the playoffs and potentially win the Super Bowl, they'll have to figure out a way to score more touchdowns. And if Kyle Shanahan hasn't figured it out by now, the solution might be a trade.
