Two people were fatally shot and others injured while responding to a brush fire in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, according to Kootenai County Sheriff Robert Norris.

Charlotte Fire's Engine 15 crew received The Order of the Long Leaf Pine for bravery during a violent incident.

“My first honor guard … the fallen firefighter memorial in 2006. They had found out … that I could play trumpet. And so they asked me to play taps at the memorial,” Ramsdell said.

Flags will be lowered immediately until the day following the firefighters’ memorial service, in accordance with Idaho law.
