There were reports indicating that the torpedo bats were one of the factors that led to Giancarlo Stanton's bilateral elbow injuries.

Giancarlo Stanton avoided questions that might have tied the New York Yankees' new torpedo bats to his new injury. Stanton has come down with a case of epicondylitis, more commonly known as "tennis elbow," in both elbows. He was asked if the new bats may have caused the injury, and he shut it down immediately.

On Tuesday, Stanton was asked whether he believes using the non-traditional bat model contributed to the tennis elbow he’s dealing with in both arms. Stanton had said during spring training that “bat adjustments” may have caused the injuries, which continue to delay his start to the season.
