In coming days, viewers of the bald eagle nest cam in Big Bear Valley, California, expect to see signs that the chicks are making dents in their eggshells.

Celebrity bald eagle couple Jackie and Shadow are preparing to hatch triplets in their California nest following last year's unsuccessful hatch.

On Thursday, a pip — or the first sign of hatching — was seen in the third egg in the avian couple’s clutch. Triplets would be unprecedented for the eagles in a decade of observation.
