ROME (AP) — U.N. World Food Program Executive Director Cindy McCain announced on Thursday that she will step down as the head of the humanitarian organization in three months to focus on her health.

Cindy McCain’s tenure running the World Food Program will end prematurely. The executive director announced on February 26 that she planned to resign for health reasons following a stroke in October.
