DENVER – The Colorado Avalanche Hockey Club announced today the team has acquired forward Nicolas Roy (pronounced WAH) from the Toronto Maple Leafs in exchange for a conditional first-round draft pick in 2027 and a conditional fifth-round draft pick in 2026.
The Colorado Avalanche and Nashville Predators completed a trade on Wednesday, as the former makes a Stanley Cup push.
The Colorado Avalanche lead the NHL in points but the team has not advanced past the first round of the playoffs since winning the Stanley Cup in 2022 and there is mounting pressure to right that wrong.
Lost amid the trade deadline buzz are the Colorado Avalanche not looking as dominant lately and the Dallas Stars taking over the top spot in the NHL power rankings.
