An extreme heat watch has also been issued from Wednesday afternoon through Saturday evening for much of the Southern California region. Weather officials say the hot conditions will increase the risk of heat illness for everyone, especially vulnerable populations, including young children, the elderly and those without air conditioning.

On Monday at 11:23 a.m. the NWS Hanford CA released an extreme heat watch valid from Friday 11 a.m. until Sunday 8 a.m. The watch is for West Side Mountains north of 198, Los Banos - Dos Palos, Merced - Madera - Mendota,

"Dangerously hot conditions" are expected for much of the region as LA and Ventura counties face conditions favorable for "explosive fire behavior."
