In hindsight, the Golden Globes aren’t the end-all, be-all for awards season, nor does Sunday’s outcome necessarily decide the fate of “Sinners” moving forward. The film remains a strong contender at SAG’s Actor Awards in March, where it’s up for five awards, and it has good projections heading into the Oscar nominations next week.
Last week, Sinners took home a plethora of awards at the Critics’ Choice Awards. Singer-actor Miles Canton won the Best Young Performer category; casting director Francine Maisler took home Best Casting and Ensemble; Ludwig Göransson won Best Score; and Ryan Coogler received an award for Best Original Screenplay.
Coogler is a collaborator and likes to work with the same group of people on his wide-ranging films. He and actor Michael B. Jordan have done numerous films together, among them 2013’s “Fruitvale Station”, 2015’s “Creed”, 2018’s “Black Panther”, 2022’s “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” and now 2025’s “Sinners.”
When the pregnant Hailee Steinfeld graced the stage at the 2026 Golden Globes, the ceremony gave a nod to her husband Josh Allen's Buffalo Bills team.
