Jaydon Blue still wants a shot at the Dallas Cowboys' starting running back job. To get it, he's first got to get back on the field. The rookie out of Texas got good news on that front on Tuesday. Blue returned to Cowboys practice on Tuesday night.

Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer said on Monday that Blue was progressing from an ankle injury earlier this month. He said he was optimistic that Blue would make his preseason debut against the Atlanta Falcons on Friday. Tuesday’s open practice at The Star in Frisco added even more optimism to that possibility. Blue practiced in full pads.

Through two preseason games, the Dallas Cowboys have yet to see rookie running back Jaydon Blue. A knee injury has kept him on the sidelines, even during practice.
