According to a Jan. 21 forecast from the National Weather Service in Memphis, this weekend will see bitterly cold temperatures and several chances for sleet, snow and freezing rain. Temperatures are expected to drop and remain low throughout the weekend, while the chance for precipitation nears 100% multiple days.
A major winter storm is set to hit the Mid-South this weekend, bringing snow, sleet, and ice, with hazardous road conditions likely lasting into next week.
On the 2024 date, Memphis International Airport measured 3.4 inches of snow, while some areas reported up to 6 inches. Meanwhile, the 2025 storm dropped 7.5 inches of snow, according to the airport. Those events were disruptive and chilly, but they don't even make the Memphis Snow Top 10.
