However, on Sunday, that all came crashing down. Smothers, who had already announced his commitment to Alabama, reversed course, and will instead join Texas.

According to On3’s Hayes Fawcett, the Texas Longhorns have landed a commitment from linebacker Rasheem Biles out of the NCAA transfer portal. Biles spent the last two seasons with the Pitt Panthers, turning into an All-ACC player.

The Texas A&M Aggies and head coach Mike Elko have already done a remarkable job in the transfer portal. Now they're trying to add the finishing touches to an already special roster so they can get to the College Football Playoff in 2026.
