The PGA Tour returns to action Thursday in Hawaii during the Sony Open, likely for the final time as professional golf enters a new era. Here are five storylines to watch in 2026: When will Woods next tee it up?
It may be some time before golf fans see Tiger Woods back on the course for a PGA Tour event, but they at least got to see the all-time great with a club in his hands.
Incredibly, Woods accomplished the same feat at Torrey Pines. From 1999-2013, Woods won the annual Tour event at Torrey Pines seven times. At the 2008 U.S. Open at Torrey Pines, Tiger pulled off an epic 91-hole victory on a broken leg to capture his 14th major title and his eighth win at Torrey.
Not only did Tiger Woods rule the leaderboards in 2000 and 2003, but he also ruled the greens, averaging about 1. 7 putts per hole, which was the best on the PGA Tour.
