BOSTON — After 56 anxious minutes, the Bruins broke the game open late. Boston scored the only two goals of the third period to pull away for a 4-1 win over the Devils on Saturday at TD Garden. The Bruins head on the road for a three-game trip beginning with a rematch against the Blues on Tuesday.

The Bruins will have an unexpected new challenge when they face the Minnesota Wild on Sunday in St. Paul. The Wild acquired Quinn Hughes from the Vancouver Canucks on Friday evening according to ESPN. The Canucks’ disappointing start had created considerable rumors that Hughes, the 26-year-old former Norris Trophy winner, could get dealt.

Captain Jared Spurgeon (power play), Kirill Kaprizov (team-leading 19th and 20th), Ryan Hartman (second in as many games) and Matt Boldy (18th) supplied the other goals, but it was Faber who appeared to benefit most from Hughes’ arrival.
