SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Kirby Dach scored twice and the Montreal Canadiens defeated the Utah Hockey Club 5-3 on Tuesday night. Mike Matheson, Patrik Laine and Cole Caufield also scored for Montreal, which has won eight of its last 10.
After benefitting early from a flurry of Montreal penalties, Utah was up 2-1 going into the second period, but it wouldn't last. Utah would be outscored 4-1 the rest of the game as Montreal took advantage of Utah's slow defensive rotations along with many opportunities in transition.
