Crosby now stands behind Steve Yzerman for the No. 9 spot in the NHL's all-time assistant rankings. During his 22-year Hall of Fame career, Yzerman recorded 1,063 assists and 1,755 points in 1,514 games. Entering the matchup against Toronto, Crosby had posted 46 assists (No. 13 in the NHL) and 65 points (No. 21 in the NHL) on the season.

Crosby currently trails Steve Yzerman, the only player ahead of Crosby to score all his assists with one team, who sits in 9th place on the list by 13 with 1,063 assists. Crosby then trails Adam Oates in 8th place by 29 assists with 1,079.
