The Golden State Warriors acquired Jimmy Butler on Wednesday night and immediately agreed to a two-year, $111 million extension to keep him, if they want, through 2027, when the contracts of Stephen Curry and Draymond Green are also set to expire.

The Warriors put their two-timelines approach on the backburner and found Stephen Curry a legitimate co-star by trading for Heat forward Jimmy Butler.

Jimmy Butler and Stephen Curry. Both of those men probably would have preferred to team up with Kevin Durant — and both their organizations tried to make that happen — but in the end they are together.
