Guerrero appeared to be in a good position to make the Opening Day roster early in camp. The 24-year-old was in the high-90s with his fastball and allowed one hit and one walk while striking out six in 3 scoreless innings (three relief outings) to begin Grapefruit League play.

It did not Kristian Campbell long to make an impact for the Boston Red Sox. He won a roster spot in spring training and clubbed his first career home run Saturday night against the Texas Rangers at Globe Life Field (GameTracker).

In three games, Campbell has gone 5-for-10, and 2-for-3 Saturday when he hit his first career home run and and doubled in his next at-bat.

The teams split 16 hits, but catcher Jonah Heim slugged two solo homers for Texas and the Red Sox didn't score after the fourth.

MLB season is only a few games old, but it has not been kind to slugging Boston Red Sox DH Rafael Devers. Devers is coming off a strangely controversial spring training in which he seemed to publicly go back and forth with manager Alex Cora about whether or not he'd play third base.
