Long-running British daytime drama “Emmerdale” will no longer be competing in the soap category at the upcoming BAFTA TV Awards after one of its former writers admitted to assaulting his partner.

The 2025 BAFTA Awards take place on Feb. 16. Before the nominations announcement on Wednesday, BAFTA announced its nominees for the Rising Star Award, which is voted on by the public.
