It was a lousy day for a home opener, but a good day to pitch. Ben Lively threw five scoreless innings for the Guardians, while Shane Smith went six scoreless for the White Sox as the 35 degree weather at Progressive Field took the sting out of the hitter’s bats and put it in their hands.

Nolan Jones drew a bases-loaded walk from Mike Clevinger in the ninth inning, and the Cleveland Guardians won their home opener 1-0 over the Chicago White Sox on Tuesday. It was the first 1-0 game that ended with a walk-off walk since the Los Angeles Dodgers beat San Diego on May 1,
