The Houston Fire Department remains on the scene following a 3-alarm apartment fire on Tuesday evening. Officials said the fire sparked up in the 2700 block of Teague Road around 6:15 p.m. A third alarm was called for additional manpower to fight the flames.
A n 18-wheeler-tanker exploded and caught fire on the US-90 Alternate entrance ramp at Fondren Saturday morning, according to the Houston Fire Department. Houston TranStar reported that the explosion and flames completely shut down the roadway in both directions, as well as three frontage road lanes. TranStar verified the crash at 9:26 a.m.
Just before 3 a.m., the Houston Fire Department received a call about an apartment on fire at 2135 Lake Hills Drive in Kingwood. Crews arrived to find heavy fire coming from the apartment building, Capt. Sedrick Robbinett with the Houston Fire Department told OnScene TV.

HOUSTON - First responders are on Highway 90 in southwest Houston after a tanker truck caught fire. The fire was reported on SH-90 by Fondren Road. The northbound lanes of South Main Street are open, but the southbound lanes are expected to remain closed for several hours.
It happened at what appears to be a business on High Star Drive near S. Kirkwood Road. According to the Houston Fire Department, crews began working inside to put out the flames, but around 4 p.m., they shifted to a defensive strategy, fighting the fire from outside.
A tanker truck caught fire Saturday morning on the US-90 Alternate entrance ramp at Fondren, according to the Houston Fire Department.
