After a record-setting day of hot temps Friday (Philly hit 98°, breaking the record of 97), we'll get a bit of a break this weekend with temps back near normal Saturday and a bit below normal on Sunday.
Forecasters say some of the storms on Friday could pack a big punch, with heavy downpours, frequent lightning and damaging winds gusts.
The thunderstorm watch is in effect until 9 p.m. A heat advisory that went into effect Thursday at 11 a.m. will continue through 8 p.m.
A line of fast-moving storms prompted severe thunderstorm warnings in the Chicago area and ground stops at O'Hare and Midway airports. There were also reports of storm damage.
