The New York Yankees and Tampa Bay Rays are set to begin a short two-game series tonight at George M. Steinbrenner Field in the Yankees’ spring training complex in Tampa, which the Rays are calling home for 2025. Southpaw Carlos Rodón is lined up to face righty Shane Baz, but before Baz could even take the mound, the tarp went onto the field.
The tarp at Steinbrenner Field was rolled out about eight minutes before the 7:35 p.m. scheduled start time between the Yankees and Rays.
