Deebo Samuel had a list of five teams he was open to getting moved to when he requested a trade from the San Francisco 49ers—including the Washington Commanders, who he was ultimately traded to earlier this month for a fifth-round pick.

The 49ers have agreed to send standout wide receiver Deebo Samuel to the Commanders in exchange for a fifth-round pick, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter, giving Washington another weapon for quarterback Jayden Daniels.

After six seasons with the San Francisco 49ers, the wide receiver wanted a change of scenery, and he got his wish after being traded to the Commanders. In exchange, the 49ers received a fifth-round pick in the 2025 NFL draft. The 29-year-old Samuel said he's ready to roll up his sleeves and help the Commanders reach loftier heights.
