Haymitch Abernathy’s time in the Hunger Games is at the center of Suzanne Collins’ newest prequel book, Sunrise on the Reaping. Set 24 years before the events of the first novel featuring Katniss Everdeen (played by Jennifer Lawrence in the film franchise) and Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson),

Sunrise on the Reaping is here, and before the new film, there are many characters from past stories that fans want to see again.

In the very first chapter, you’re introduced to two of Haymitch’s friends from District 12: Burdock and Asterid. They don’t play huge roles in the story of the book but die-hard Hunger Games fans will likely piece together that they are the eventual parents of Katniss Everdeen.
