MONTREAL - The number of Quebec homes located in flood zones will likely increase by 30 per cent when new maps are introduced next year, the province’s environment minister said Thursday.
Quebec's environment minister says about 30 per cent more homes could be located in flood zones when new maps come into effect next year.
The new map could see existing flood zones grow by around 30 per cent, a smaller increase than the initial estimate.
People can click the "bell" icon in the top right corner of the map to be notified if a river is flooding in their area.
