The Pittsburgh Steelers' short list of candidates for their head coaching vacancy has come into focus and had seemed rather set in stone, but a new name may be entering the fray.

Pittsburgh has kicked off its search by interviewing a plethora of candidates around the league, but apparently, the franchise is also interested in a certain college coach. According to Brian Baldinger of NFL Network, the Steelers are 'very interested' in Miami Hurricanes head coach Mario Cristobal.

As an NFL head coach, Mike McCarthy’s greatest achievement came at the expense of his hometown Steelers, but 15 years later, the Pittsburgh native might get a chance to make amends.

“The person walking into that building, it’s not going to be about the style of play, but it’s the manner with which you approach it,” said Cowher on CBS Sports’ We Need to Talk show.
