Chargers coach Jim Harbaugh remains optimistic about the team's future despite a 16-3 loss to New England in the wild-card round.
Patriots defensive tackle Milton Williams turned in a strong performance in the win. The Super Bowl-winning DT sacked Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert twice in the game. Williams’ second sack turned out to be the game-deciding tackle that closed the door on a potential Chargers comeback in the fourth quarter.
The Chargers' much-maligned offensive line held up decently well in the first half in protection for Justin Herbert. The offensive line could have been perfect, and it would not have mattered; receivers were not getting open, easy check-downs were not available. The run game was non-existent.
