The Sky, who entered the game with a 6-13 record and the fourth-worst record in the league, were considered heavy underdogs against a Lynx side that has been dominating the league throughout the campaign.

The Lynx looked out of sorts and fatigued in their 11th game in 21 days, and players and coach Cheryl Reeve criticized the schedule.

Reese had 19 points and 11 rebounds - her eighth consecutive double-double and 14th of the season - and Cardoso finished with 17 points and a career-high 15 rebounds.

Before their previous game against the Dallas Wings, which ended in an 87-76 victory for the Sky, Angel Reese appeared on the injury report. Reese was listed as questionable due to a leg injury. Reese wound up playing in the game and Chicago coach Tyler Marsh explained that the injury is not of a serious matter.
