Mixed martial arts fighter Conor McGregor on Thursday lost his attempt to overturn a jury’s order that he compensate a woman who accused him of raping her, with Ireland’s Court of Appeal rejecting the appeal in its entirety.

Chief Executive of Dublin Rape Crisis Centre, Rachel Morrogh, said: “Today’s decision by the Appeals Court confirms the finding by a High Court jury last November that Conor McGregor raped Nikita Hand and that damages were due to her.
