A light wintry mix of precipitation is expected to hit the area starting around 3 p.m. Light accumulations of snow may occur where temperatures remain at or below freezing. The weather service is forecasting the weather system to be in place through late evening.

Most of the Memphis-area public school districts do not have strict parameters on when to cancel school due to inclement weather. Some school districts, especially ones in northern states that have longer and more extreme winter weather patterns, have policies that cancel school at specific temperature thresholds.

Memphis expects a clear end to 2025, with sunny skies and highs of 52°F, cooling in the evening, and a mostly sunny start to 2026.
