Changes coming to DEI are “partly because we need to continue to comply with the law," said vice president on federal relations Jack Cline.

The Boston university's webpage formerly titled, "The Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion," is now "Belonging in Northeastern."

Northeastern University has replaced its diversity and equity, including messages on its programs and websites, with more generic language. The steps come after President Donald Trump took action to remove DEI programs from the federal government and warned of investigations into DEI programs at educational institutes.
