SF Giants call up former infielder to play right field, and send down top pitching prospect back to Sacramento

Tyler Fitzgerald has been recalled by the San Francisco Giants and might get some time playing right field after doing so with the Triple-A River Cats.

The Giants saw enough out of Kai-Wei Teng last Friday to give him another shot, and because the San Diego Padres are so balanced at the top of their lineup, they’ll let the right-hander start on Wednesday instead of following a left-handed opener.
