Inflation, the cost of living and economic stability concerns propelled Singapore's conservative People's Action Party to a landslide election win on Saturday.

In a third victory for incumbent political parties in a week, Singapore’s People’s Action Party won a supermajority in Saturday’s election, delivering a strong mandate for Lawrence Wong in his first election as prime minister.

In all, 65.57 percent of the 2,386,452 valid votes cast went to the PAP -- up from 61.24 percent in the 2020 General Election -- in what was PM Wong's first electoral test leading the ruling party.
