Coram Democrat Farzeem Bahm has announced his candidacy in New York’s First Senate District, a seat held by three-term incumbent Sen. Anthony Palumbo (R).

Robert E. Kosciusko of Cutchogue died on Jan. 5, 2026, at home. He was 78 years old.

Angela M. Schuster of Riverhead died on Dec. 28, 2025, at the Kanas Center in Westhampton Beach. She was 83 years old.

The Riverhead Zoning Board on Thursday held public hearings on a proposed warehouse and a proposed ambulance facility in zoning districts where those uses are not permitted.

Walter F. Blanck of Baiting Hollow, formerly of West Islip, died on Jan. 9, 2026, at Acadia Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Riverhead. He was 84 years old.

Anthony P. Zaweski of Panama City Beach, Florida, died on Dec. 21, 2025, in Panama City Beach. He was 71 years old.

Eloise Florence Parker of Riverhead died on Dec. 25, 2025, at home. She was 90 years old.
