Knott’s Berry Farm’s Sol Spin ride suffered “technical difficulties,” leaving guests at the California theme park dangling in midair for more than two hours.

The Sol Spin ride experienced technical difficulties and stopped mid-cycle at 2 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 18 with 22 riders on board, according to Knott’s Berry Farm officials.

Knott’s Berry Farm on its website said the “ Sol Spin sends guests on a thrilling adventure over 6 stories high as they rotate in all directions on one of six spinning arms.

The Sol Spin ride malfunctioned at approximately 2 p.m., causing the ride to stop and trapping 22 riders mid-air, the park said in a statement to USA TODAY on Monday.
