Dominican authorities have expanded the search for missing Sudiksha Konanki, a UPitt student from Virginia who vanished from the Riu Republica resort a week ago on spring break.

Sudiksha Konanki, like many students, headed to the Dominican Republic for spring break. She was staying at a beachfront resort before disappearing.

Local media previously reported that authorities quickly came to believe that Konanki, 20, drowned after going in the water after a night out with friends.
