A dust plume that has been traveling across the Atlantic may later spread as far as Texas and Georgia as a weather system breaks it apart.

The plume is forecast to move northwest and reach Florida mid-week, then hit other states including Georgia, the Carolinas, Texas and Louisiana by Friday, radar shows.

A "wall of dust" is heading toward Florida and could hang around until the weekend. Smoke from Canadian wildfires dipped as far south as North Florida. The same conditions bringing the Saharan dust into Florida is moving the Canadian smoke out.
