Many Verizon customers with iPhones had their devices go into “SOS mode,” which occurs when the cell phone is in an area with no cellular service. Others saw a “no service” icon. The locations with the most reports of outages include New York City, Brooklyn, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Dallas, Charlotte and Houston, according to Downdetector.
There were more than 130,000 incidents of people reporting issues with Verizon's services around 1:11 pm ET, according to Downdetector.
