Veterans groups and the community came together this week to remember and honor Medal of Honor recipient, Duane E. Dewey. In 1952 in Panmunjom, Korea, Mr. Dewey smothered a grenade with his body, absorbing the explosion and protecting his unit. President Eisenhower praised his “body of steel,” when awarding him for his valor at the White House ceremony in 1953.
