There were three beautiful bull elk sporting gorgeous racks in Alpine over the weekend. It was fun to watch them moving their cows through the minimal snow. Please, if you have our snow will you please send it back?! We have not seen a snowless winter like this is a very long time. At least there is a little in Wyoming now, but where we live we have bare ground and typically we have a foot or so on the ground by now. We haven't even had to shovel or snowblow at all. Gorgeous Elk bull confidently bugling, strutting his stuff, then we see some classic herding as the cow scurries on back to the group. He had faced many challengers but none could topple him. Or could they? He actually lost his harem for a day. But only a day. He likely just needed some rest, it's incredibly exhausting a harem of 20 cows and calves.
