today is the 10th anniversary of my 8th studio album, show me your fangs. i’m having an oddly emotional reaction remembering life back when i made this record... that cliche “youth is lost on the young” is too fuckin real. i miss the naive optimism. and how the trajectory of everything felt clear. i mean, there was still a music business then, and we’d promote albums and send songs to radio (!) it feels antiquated now... like churning butter or building a barn with the towns folk. i love so many
