ICYMI- We reached a new milestone after receiving our new inlet facilities module, the first of many to arrive in Kitimat. Measuring 35 metres in height and weighing 4,618 metric tonnes, the inlet facilities module will receive natural gas directly from the CGL pipeline, distributing it to treatment facilities before being loaded into specialized carriers for marine transport. Three towering pieces of equipment critical to the gas liquification process have arrived at our site in Kitimat. Crews spent the week of June 7th carefully offloading a 345-tonne main cryogenic heat exchanger (MCHE) and two precooler units, which weigh 308 tonnes and 284 tonnes respectively, from a cargo ship docked at the LNG Canada project’s new material offloading facility (MOF) in Kitimat Harbour.
