I'm often asked if I use masking fluid - a liquid latex/rubber "barrier" that you can draw or paint with. I do, especially when there are fiddly, intricate areas I want to keep white. I have found it works better with cotton rather than wood pulp papers, and you MUST let your painting dry completely before removing.
